Urdu is the official language of Pakistan and is spoken by 90.8 million people worldwide as their mother tongue. It is spoken predominantly in Pakistan and India but significant Urdu communities exist in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Just like other East Asian languages, Urdu uses honorifics that are linguistic conventions used to show respect, politeness, and social hierarchy. Honorifics play a central role in facilitating respectful and harmonious interactions in East and South Asian societies.

Online Urdu classes are available for grades K-12 and adults. Classes are taught via zoom in all time zones. You can sign up for a group or private class for a time that’s convenient for you.

Our teachers reside in the U.S. Central and Eastern Standard Time zones.

Urdu language classes for children in grades K – 12 are divided by age and incoming proficiency levels of students. For example, we teach novice speakers from grades K – 2 with different lesson plans and curriculums than those from grades 3 – 5 and so on. Learn more >>

Most of our classes are 60 to 90 minutes long. Students learn to read, write, and converse in Urdu through immersive, interactive, themed curriculums that teach language in a cultural context. We focus on the culture, art, history, and heritage of Pakistan.

Students can learn in group or private classes that are available in-person and online via zoom.

The fee for enrolling in Urdu classes will depend on the type of class you choose. We offer hourly fee per student or a semester fee per student for group, private, in-person, and online classes. Sibling discount is available. You must register to see the actual amount due. See our prices.

Yes. We provide all the necessary books and materials to cover each proficiency level for Urdu language.

We perform formative assessments throughout the learning episodes and a summative assessment at the end of each session. We recommend signing up for an entire semester to see a full proficiency level change—from novice to novice mid. A semester consists of a minimum of 15 classes for 60 – 90 minutes each, every once a week.

Our teachers are native Urdu speakers and possess a high level of proficiency in Urdu language, including a strong command of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural nuances. They  understand teaching methodologies based on ACTFL standards of teaching foreign languages such as immersive, task-based learning, and scaffolding.

Language teaching is not just about vocabulary and grammar; it’s also about imparting cultural insights and fostering cross-cultural understanding. Our teachers are well versed in the Pakistani heritage and culture and the diaspora communities in the U.S.

Pervaaz means “to fly” or “flight”. Our approach involves taking a virtual flight and journey into Pakistan’s arts, history, heritage, and culture to learn the Urdu language in context. The term “flight” also represents the remarkable progress in learning achieved in just four weeks of our immersive curriculum.

We teach Urdu through the five senses where students watch videos around the topic, listen to regional and contmeporary music, speak Urdu with friends and taste aromatic ethnic foods as part of their learning experience. Sign up for an Urdu class >>
