Ages 10 – 17 (or 5th grade to high school): Free due to a grant from EEYP.
Indus Arts Council and Expose Excellence Youth Program, an initiative of the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office, bring to you, Truck Art & Me—an art summer camp introducing Truck Art from Pakistan. Students will learn the forms, motifs, and colors used in the Truck Art, its history and culture, as well as the Urdu language vocabulary associated with the art. The full-day summer camp (including lunch and snacks) is free for ages 10 – 17 or 5th grade to high school but you must register to save a spot. The art is taught by a professional artist Zahra Ali and the integrated Urdu curriculum is developed by IAC Language Program Director, Talat Awais. Art supplies, lunches, and snacks are included in the summer camp. No prior knowledge of art or Urdu language is required.

Dear Camp Students and Parents.
“The camp will provide an opportunity for the students to get a first-hand experience of learning the Urdu language as they connect with the Truck Art culture of Pakistan. - Our guidelines are based on CDC suggestions (masks, frequent hand washing, temperature checks, social distancing, staggered activities, isolating presumed cases, and individually packaged foods) for Youth and Summer Camps.

The carefully selected staff of experienced professionals, teachers, and educationists teach this Art program integrated with the Urdu vocabulary. Our teachers and TAs have an extensive background and experience in teaching at school districts and universities/colleges around the world.
