StarTalk Urdu Summer Camp 2021 is a language immersion camp for children—Kinder through 8th grade. It’s a learning opportunity for students to read, write, and converse in the Urdu language and gather knowledge of Pakistani culture. This year, our curriculum theme is “diversity.” Students will learn Urdu and experience the cultural, geographical, and environmental diversity found all across Pakistan.
No prior knowledge of Urdu is required.

Dear Houston,

Thank you for your continued interest in Indus Arts Council StarTalk Urdu Summer Camp 2021. This year will be different in many ways as we are still experiencing an active pandemic (Covid 19 virus). We have been working hard to plan a safe, learner centered, fun, and enjoyable experience for all our students and team members.

We ask your cooperation to make this program a great success just as we have been doing since 2014 in the Greater Houston Area. Camp during Covid 19

The safety of our staff and students is our top priority.

  1. Our team is getting special Covid 19 training.
  2. We have dedicated staff members to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  3. Our guidelines are based on CDC suggestions (masks, frequent hand washing, temperature checks, social distancing, staggered activities, isolating presumed cases, and individually packagedfoods) for Youth and Summer Camps.
  4. We require your compliance with all policies to help us make this camp a safe and enjoyable experience.

Who can enroll in Urdu Summer Camp?
Kindergarten to 8th grade students may join. All requests are first come, first serve. You can be on our wait list with no guarantees for acceptance.

Are there any Fees for this class?
No Fees. This course is free for all. We also provide lunch and snacks (Halal Zabihah) as part of the summer camp.

Are books and supplies included?
Yes. We will provide all required materials.

Who teaches the Urdu classes?
Carefully selected staff of experienced teachers and educationists (K-12 Specialist) teach this Urdu language course with the same dedication and passion that reflects in the mission of Indus Arts Council. Our teachers and TAs have an extensive background and experience in teaching at school districts and universities/colleges around the world.
